Terms of Service

1. Who provides Verscout

Verscout is published and licensed by Vohux Inc. ("Vohux", "we", or "us"). These terms govern your use of the Verscout application and our related services. Contact us at [email protected] for product, subscription, or legal questions.

Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record for purchases made through its checkout. It processes your purchase, taxes, payment details, and billing documents under its separateBuyer Terms. Vohux remains responsible for the Verscout software and the commitments we make here. Mandatory consumer rights prevail over any inconsistent term.

2. The annual plan

The Verscout annual plan costs US$6.99 per year for up to three Macs, billed in advance. Applicable taxes are calculated and shown at checkout before you pay. The checkout identifies the charge currency and total. Your payment provider may apply currency-conversion or other fees.

The plan is an automatically renewing annual subscription, not a perpetual license. By completing a checkout that clearly presents the recurring charge and obtaining your agreement, you authorize Lemon Squeezy to charge the disclosed amount for the first year and each annual renewal until cancelled. The receipt and customer portal identify your billing dates and applicable charges. The paid term starts on the subscription start date shown in your order.

Your purchase covers the paid update features described at the time of purchase on compatible Macs during your entitlement period. It does not guarantee that every installed application will be detected, supported, or updated successfully. Third-party software licenses and subscriptions are separate and are not included.

3. Three Macs and license transfers

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive license to use Verscout on up to three Macs that you own or control at the same time. Personal and professional use are permitted. You must have authority to install software and apply updates on those Macs. You may move an activation to another Mac by deactivating the previous Mac and activating the replacement. Contact support if you cannot access the previous Mac. Do not sell, publicly share, or sublicense your key, or use it on additional Macs beyond the activation limit.

Internet access is required for activation and periodic license validation. An activated Mac may continue paid use during the application's limited offline grace period after successful validation. The current grace period is 24 hours; reconnecting is required when it expires.

4. Trial and free scanning

Verscout offers a 21-day trial of paid features without requiring payment information. Starting or finishing the trial does not subscribe you, authorize a charge, or automatically convert you to a paid plan. A paid subscription requires a separate checkout.

After the trial or a paid subscription ends, scanning and reviewing your software inventory remain available without payment. Paid update actions require a valid trial or paid entitlement. You do not have to uninstall Verscout merely because you cancel or allow a subscription to expire.

5. Cancellation, expiry, and renewal

You can turn off automatic renewal through the Lemon Squeezy customer portal linked from your receipt. Complete cancellation before the next renewal and retain its confirmation. Cancellation stops future renewal payments and normally leaves paid features available until the end of the period already purchased. Deactivating a Mac, uninstalling Verscout, or deleting local data does not cancel billing.

If you cannot use the portal, contact [email protected] or Lemon Squeezy with your purchase email and order number. Lemon Squeezy's buyer terms request at least 48 hours' notice for support-mediated cancellation. This processing guidance does not restrict any cancellation or refund right provided by applicable law.

If renewal payment fails, Lemon Squeezy may retry it and contact you. Paid features end when your paid entitlement expires, subject to applicable law and any valid offline grace period. Keep your billing contact information current so you receive renewal and account notices.

6. Refunds and consumer rights

Request a full refund within 30 calendar days of your initial subscription payment or any annual renewal payment by contacting [email protected]. Include your order number and purchase email; do not send your full payment-card details. We process approved refunds through Lemon Squeezy to the original payment method. A full refund ends the paid entitlement associated with that charge and stops its future renewals; free scanning remains available. Your bank or payment provider controls when funds appear in your account.

After that period, simply cancelling does not automatically create a pro-rata refund for unused time. You may still be entitled to a refund, repair, replacement, price reduction, or other remedy for a defect, failure to supply, or under applicable law. Lemon Squeezy may also provide refunds under its own policies.

Consumers in the EU, UK, and other jurisdictions may have statutory withdrawal or cancellation rights. Any lawful exception for immediately supplied digital content applies only if all required conditions, notices, and consent have been satisfied. Downloading the free trial or accepting these general terms does not by itself waive a right attached to a later paid purchase. Nothing here limits mandatory warranties, remedies, chargeback rights, or access to a regulator or court.

7. Price and plan changes

We will not increase the price of a period you have already paid for. If we change your renewal price, we will give you at least 30 days' advance notice, identify the new amount and effective renewal date, and explain how to cancel before it applies. We will obtain further consent where the law requires it. The price shown in a new offer does not itself change an existing subscription's billing terms. If a previous offer or written promise gives you more generous rights, we honor those rights for the purchase to which they apply. An agreed plan change will disclose its price, billing date, and any credit or charge before it takes effect.

8. Updates, third-party software, and support

Verscout helps you discover and apply updates supplied by third parties. Publisher sites, package registries, installers, downloads, feeds, and third-party licenses remain under those parties' control. Their availability, licensing, system requirements, or update procedures may change. Review the software publisher, permissions, compatibility information, and update details before applying updates. Maintain appropriate backups, particularly before updating software you rely on.

Security checks, vulnerability information, backups, and rollback tools reduce some risks but cannot guarantee a safe update, complete vulnerability coverage, recovery of every file, or restoration of every earlier version. Verscout is not a substitute for your backup, security, or change-control arrangements.

Support is available through [email protected]. The subscription does not include a guaranteed response time, continuous availability, custom development, or a service-level agreement. We remain responsible for obligations and remedies that cannot be excluded by law.

9. Optional contributions to the update-source catalog

Catalog contribution is optional and off by default. Eligible subscribers may choose to send the specific software metadata and public update links described in our Privacy Policy. Your paid features do not depend on opting in. Do not submit private, confidential, credential-bearing, or unauthorized content.

To the extent you hold rights in metadata you choose to contribute, you give Vohux a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to receive, store, validate, normalize, and use that metadata to identify software and maintain Verscout's update-source catalog. This permission covers our service providers acting for that purpose and distribution of verified public source information through Verscout. It does not transfer ownership of your software, documents, or third-party intellectual property, and does not authorize advertising profiles.

You can stop future contributions and request deletion of linked submissions as described in the Privacy Policy. Independently verified public software facts that have been separated from contribution identifiers may remain in the catalog. The contribution permission does not override your privacy rights or the rights of software publishers.

10. Acceptable use and intellectual property

Vohux and its licensors retain rights in Verscout's code, design, documentation, and branding. Third-party components and software remain subject to their own licenses. Do not redistribute or resell Verscout without permission, bypass licensing controls, interfere with service security, submit malicious catalog entries, or use the product unlawfully. Do not reverse engineer or decompile the software except where applicable law or a component's license permits it. These restrictions do not prohibit lawful interoperability, permitted security research, or rights that cannot be restricted by contract.

11. Warranties and liability

We will provide Verscout with reasonable care and skill and honor mandatory consumer guarantees. To the extent permitted by law, other warranties not expressly made in these terms are excluded. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, universal application coverage, or any particular result from third-party updates.

Where legally permitted, Vohux is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or business interruption. Where legally permitted, Vohux's aggregate liability arising from these terms is limited to the subscription fees you paid for Verscout during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

These exclusions and limits do not apply to fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, intentional misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, mandatory consumer remedies, or any liability that applicable law does not permit us to exclude or limit. If your jurisdiction does not allow a particular exclusion or limit, it does not apply to you.

12. Suspension, discontinuation, and changes to these terms

We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address fraud, a material breach, unlawful conduct, or a concrete security threat. Where reasonable, we will explain the issue and give you an opportunity to resolve it before terminating access. This does not authorize us to withhold a refund or other remedy required by law.

If we discontinue paid services during a prepaid term for reasons other than your material breach, we will provide continued access for that term or a refund for the unused portion. We will give reasonable advance notice where practicable.

Material changes to these terms will be communicated at least 30 days before they take effect, except changes required sooner by law or necessary to address an urgent security issue. They do not retroactively change completed transactions, reduce mandatory rights, or authorize new data uses without any required consent. If a material change adversely affects your paid service, we will explain your available cancellation and refund options.

13. Governing law and contact

Ontario law and applicable Canadian federal law govern these terms, subject to mandatory protections of the law where you live. Ontario courts may hear disputes, but this does not prevent a consumer from using a court, regulator, or remedy available under mandatory local law. There is no mandatory arbitration or class-action waiver in these terms. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent lawful.
